ASP Presents Reading Series 4/9-4/11

Actors' Shakespeare Project, in collaboration with The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University, is producing a reading series in early April prior to staging Antony and Cleopatra in the space later in the month. The reading series includes Thomas Middleton's Women Beware Women, directed by ASP company member Sarah Newhouse, and The Last Will by Robert Brustein - a 2011 National Medal of Arts recipient - directed by Daniela Varon.

Women Beware Women, Thomas Middleton's striking Jacobean tragi-comedy, is full of intrigue,
seduction & betrayal set in the court of Florence; a place where the women are as desirous,
manipulative & power-hungry as their male counterparts.

The Last Will

The Last Will is the third part of a trilogy Robert Brustein has written about Shakespeare at various points in his career. This play finds Shakespeare having returned to Stratford to be with his long-neglected wife, Anne Hathaway, and his daughters Susannah and Judith. While Richard Burbage, leader of Shakespeare's Acting Company, tries to persuade him to return to London and to playwriting, an ill Will wrestles with his fears, delusions, family resentments, and final testaments.
