ASO To Perform Soundtrack To CASABLANCA Tonight
For the fourth consecutive season, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will collaborate with Turner Classic Movies® to bring the soundtrack of a classic film to life at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park. Staff Conductor Jere Flint will lead the Orchestra in the score from Casablanca, which will be shown on big screens, on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. at the Amphitheatre. Ben Mankiewicz, weekend daytime host of Turner Classic Movies®, will host the evening.
The Orchestra will have two additional concerts at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in the 2011 summer season: on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 8:00 p.m., Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the Orchestra in "Cirque de la Symphonie," which combines world-class acrobatics and artistry with classical masterpieces and memorable contemporary music; on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 8:00 p.m., Mr. Krajewski and the Orchestra will close the summer season performing alongside Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Family ticket packages are available for all 2011 Orchestra concerts. Packages include four tickets for lawn or pavilion seating, four food baskets, four lawn chair rentals, and one parking pass. Prices start at $60. More information is available at vzwamp.com.
