AMY G: ROUND SHE GOES Comes to Joe's Pub 11/21
Direct from a critically acclaimed European tour, the world's best (and probably only) comic cabaret on roller skates, AMY G: ROUND SHE GOES, rolls into Joe's Pub on Friday Novemeber 21 at 11:30 pm.
Amy G presents "a studied combination of elegance and slapstick" (Irish Times) on circles, perfectionism, beauty, love and other bad ideas. Featuring original music on ukulele and doublebass (Jon Keay), "a spectacular voice," and some explict content with mild to seething cultural significance.
Amy G is a revolutionary cabaret comedienne, described by The Australian as "a comic powerhouse." Her audacious style - a fearless mix of physical, musical and improvisational comedy - has thrilled audiences the world over, including Broadway's New Victory Theatre, The Sydney Opera House, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Adelaide International Festival, Festival International de Teatro de Bogota and Montreal's monster comedy festival, Just For Laughs.Most recently she's been storming London's variety scene, the German cabaret, and premiering her latest show, Round She Goes, internationally at the Dublin Fringe and in NY at Spiegelworld. Ms. G is a regular with the illustrious variete, La Clique, with whom she's played seasons in New York (2006 "Absinthe"). Melbourne, Montreal, Dublin, Sydney, and Adelaide.
As lead comedienne and co-creator of the Daredevil Opera Company, she starred in their pyrotechnic clown shows, Cirkus Inferno and Rocket and Roxy's Stunt Show over 600 times in 23 countries. In NYC: Weimar New York, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, and Shanghai Mermaid as well as writer/co-director/clown of AntiGravity's Crash Test Dummies, Athena in Todd Almond's The Kansas City Choir Boy.
