Actors' Equity Association (Equity), the national union of professional stage actors and stage managers, and The Broadway League (League), the national trade association for the Broadway and touring industry, have successfully reached a tentative agreement for the union's Production Contract, a month before the current contract expires. Equity's premiere agreement, the Production Contract covers actors and stage managers on Broadway, and in full production tours and tiered touring productions.

The tentative agreement calls for wage and other compensation increases in each year of the contract and addresses quality of life issues and work rules. It is negotiated for a four (4) year term and will expire in September, 2019. The specifics of the contract will be released after ratification.

The National Council, Equity's governing body will convene in September to review the proposed terms and conditions of the new contract for recommendation. The contract will then be sent to those Equity members who have worked under the Production Contract between 2008 and September 2015 and are eligible to vote.

Founded in 1913, Actors' Equity Association represents more than 50,000 professional stage actors and stage managers in the United States. Equity negotiates wages, working conditions and benefits on behalf of its members. A member of the AFL-CIO, Equity is also a member of the Four A's and is affiliated with FIA, an international organization of performing arts unions.

The Broadway League, founded in 1930, is the national trade association for the Broadway industry. The League's 700-plus members include theatre owners and operators, producers, presenters, and general managers who present in nearly 200 markets in North America, as well as suppliers of goods and services to the theatre industry. Each year, League members bring Broadway to nearly 30 million people in New York and on tour across the U.S. and Canada. The Broadway League has recently added a new category for International membership to collaborate with professionals from around the world who produce and present Broadway quality theatre.
