ACT Presents 'Pinkaboo! The Closeted American Songbook'
By: BWW News Desk
The Central Heating Lab at ACT continues to push the envelope and expose pure unadulterated talent with PINKABOO! The Closeted American Songbook, a companion piece to ACT's mainstage production of A Marvelous Party: The Noël Coward Celebration.
For nearly 20 years, the saucy cabaret duo "Phoenicia & Vic" (Wade Madsen and Victor Janusz) have delighted Seattle audiences. Starting June 20, for eight performances only at ACT's Bullitt Cabaret, the twosome will stir up trouble and pillage dozens of great standards and early 20th century showtunes. Together, they recreate a late-night speakeasy, giving answer to, "What happens after Noël Coward leaves the comfort of the closeted stage and retires with his cronies in an after-hours club?" Phoenicia & Vic give a nod to Coward-esque sophistication, and to keep things spicy and scandalous, they toss in original tunes from their now-famous repertoire: "Don't Start The Show Without Me!", "Born In A Tent" and Phoenicia's 'signature tune', 'Everyone Leaves Me Alone". Special guests, including Peggy Platt, El Vez, Sarah Rudinoff, The Heavenly Spies and more join Phoenicia & Vic each week.
