Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan sat down with Matt Lauer this morning in his first television interview since the June 2014 car crash that left him critically injured. Morgan was joined by his lawyer Benedict Morelli.

A year after a deadly car accident that nearly cost him his own life, Morgan shared "I can't believe I'm here." He continued, "Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal."

Morgan and several friends were returning from a performance when the limousine they were traveling in on the New Jersey Turnpike was rear-ended by a Walmart truck. The "30 Rock" actor suffered a broken leg, several broken ribs and severe brain trauma. His fellow comedian and close friend, James "Jimmy Mac" McNair, was killed in the collision. Two other passengers in the limo were seriously injured.

Last week, Walmart settled a lawsuit filed by Morgan over the collision. "I'm happy that Walmart stepped up to the plate in a tremendous way. They took full responsibility," Morgan said. "They took full responsibility. I'm just really happy they looked out for Jimmy Mac's family."
