A FEW GOOD MEN Next Up at Lakewood Theatre Company
Lakewood Theatre Company stages Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men at their theater in Old Hickory, beginning Friday, September 30, and running through Saturday, October 15.
A Few Good Men is the gripping drama of the trial of two Marines stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, accused of killing one of their own during a disciplinary action gone wrong - a "Code Red." Lt. Daniel Kaffee, a Navy JAG lawyer who practices in plea bargains but has never seen the inside of a courtroom, defends the two with the help of colleagues Lt. Cmdr. Joanne Galloway and Lt. Sam Weinberg.
Seeking answers, the three travel to GITMO to get answers from the steely, no-nonsense base commander, Lt. Col. Nathan R. Jessep. Did the Marines kill a fellow soldier? Did a superior officer order the hazing? Only during the trial will the truth come out.
A Few Good Men was originally produced at Broadway's Music Box Theatre in 1989 and brought to the silver screen in 1992. Sorkin wrote the play after his sister, a Navy JAG lawyer, was sent to defend a group of Marines who came close to killing a fellow soldier in a hazing gone wrong at Guantanamo Bay.
