The 92Y Tribeca has announced that it will present 'Meet the Lady: Pearl Bailey!' on August 18 at 8pm. 'Meet the Lady' website curator Tom Blunt, cabaret performer Roslyn Hart, and actress Cassandra Freeman will appear at the event.

Blunt and Hart will present film and television clips of Pearl Bailey, while Freeman will read from Bailey's memoirs.  The event will also feature food from Bailey's cookbook, published in 1975.

Pearl Bailey appeared on Broadway in ST. LOUIS WOMAN, ARMS AND THE GIRL, BLESS YOU ALL, HOUSE OF FLOWERS, and HELLO, DOLLY!, for which she won a special Tony Award.  Her film appearances included 'Isn't It Romantic?,' 'Carmen Jones,' 'St. Louis Blues,' and 'Porgy and Bess.'  Bailey was also known for her singing; her version of 'Takes Two to Tango' made the top ten in 1952.

'Meet the Lady: Pearl Bailey!' will take place at the 92Y Tribeca at 200 Hudson Street, New York City.  Tickets are $12; for more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.92y.org.
