The Sixth Annual "On Our Toes in The Hamptons" featuring the internationally acclaimed Evidence, A Dance Company under the direction of founder Ronald K. Brown will take place at the home of The Honorable Bernard and Joyce Jackson, 2028 Deerfield Road, Water Mill, N.Y., 11976 on Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Benefit committee for what has become the premiere African American cultural event of the season includes Alicia Bythewood, Chair; b Michael, Harriet Michel, Brian and Mira Mullins, Donna Williams. The mission of Evidence is to promote understanding of the African Diaspora through dance and storytelling. The company will celebrate its 25th season in 2010. Highlights include a four-week tour to Africa sponsored by the U.S. State Department and performances at the Vancouver International Dance Festival.
The late afternoon event will feature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, auction, performance and dancing with the dancers. Tickets are $250 & $500: Sponsor packages are $25,000, $15,000, $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $2,500.
