Four County Players is thrilled to announce that our new Theater Manager is Rowena "Row" Halpin. Row has a long history in the Charlottesville area theater community, having worked with our friends at Live Arts as Volunteer Coordinator and Production Manager for the last 11 years. Some background on Row, from Row:

"From 1978-1984, I was working with Fred and Beth Nichols in Barboursville as screen printer and studio assistant when, one day, Fran Sackett Smith stopped in to inquire if we could help make some t-shirts for the T.R.E.E. Program over at Four County Players...and that is how I met community theater in Central Virginia.

Volunteering at Live Arts' beginnings in 1990, running and designing lights and sound, led to being hired as a staff member in 2000. For the past 11 years, I have participated in the magic of successful collaborations and all the pitfalls and innovations that combine forces to keep a theater going, volunteers energized, and audiences engaged.

My home is in downtown Barboursville, over on the vineyard side of the tracks, where I live with my best, dearest friend Renee and some fine cats. I have a studio at home where I paint, print, and make cards.

So here I am, fortunate and, quite frankly, awed that I will be working with the theater that really is in my community!"

Row's first official day on the job was April 18, so make sure you come by to wish her a hearty "Welcome!" in person, and find out how you can become involved in Four County Players, Central Virginia's Longest-Running Community Theater.
