'40s Musical When the Lights Go On Again Extends to 5/27

By:

The critically acclaimed When The Lights Go On Again, the new musical celebrating the music of the 1940s and World War II, has announced  its 2nd extension at the Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street ~ between Broadway & Columbus Avenue). Written and staged by Bill Daugherty, the musical is produced by Thoroughbred Records and Max Weintraub. Performances will run through May 27th.

"Set during a live WNEW radio broadcast from the ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel, When The Lights Go On Again follows The Moonlighters, an up and coming singing group trying to land a job with the legendary Glenn Miller band. Told through 28 hit songs from the 1940's, the musical paints the emotions of a country supporting its combat efforts and the sacrifices that war can bring," state press materials.

When The Lights Go On Again features Bill Daugherty, Paul Kropfl, Christina Morrell and Connie Pachl. Doyle Newmyer serves as musical director with Jim Conant on guitar and John Loehrke on bass. Theater audiences may remember three members of this creative team from last season's revue, Broadway Our Way, which played for nearly six months.

Starting in March, When The Lights Go On Again will play the following schedule at The Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street ~ between Broadway & Columbus Avenue): Saturdays at 2PM with additional evening performances on March 3rd, March 17th & March 31st (7PM).  Starting April 4th, performances will be Wednesdays (7PM), Saturdays & Sundays (3PM).  Starting May 4th, performances will be Fridays (7PM), Saturdays & Sundays (3PM). Tickets are $30. For tickets and reservations call TheaterMania (212) 352-3101 or online www.theatermania.com.
