3-Legged Dog's RODS AND CABLES Opens 3/20

By:

RODS AND CABLES is a wild, vulgar and cartoonish look at desire and despair. Human nature is examined at its most instinctual and unmannered. The thrills of youth are shown to be fleeting and artificial, but nonetheless exhilarating. This ambitious multimedia production creates wild chaos with its elaborate bizarre designs (pools of applesauce, a circus ring, 100 household lamps) and compelling characters (The Sultry Flight Attendant, That Woman, The Sexy Clown, The Little Man with a Big Costume). Come see the awesome beauty in this nasty adult world...

This 3-Legged Dog production features video design by Jeff Morey (Builder's Association), sets by Paul DiPietro (Richard Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Theater), costumes by Nellie Fleischner (Richard Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Theater) lighting by Kate Ashton, music composition by Jason Sebastian sound by Marcelo Añez, and specialty props design by Gabe Barcia-Colombo. Performers include Joshua Koehn, Lucille Duncan, and Jessie Paddock, with video performances by Livia De Paolis, Cooper Grodin, and Errickson Wilcox.

Allison M Keating has been the resident designer for 3-Legged Dog since 2005 including roles as the Associate Production Designer for Degeneracy, Losing Something (Winner of the 2007 American Theater Wing Hewes Design Award) and Chales Mee's Fire Island. With 3-Legged Dog, she also designed costumes for The Curse of the Mystic Renaldo The and was part of a collaboration between 3-Legged Dog and the Mexican experimental arts group Antarticá. Keating has worked as a set designer on both Steve Earl's Karla and Bruce Kronenburg's Trust at The Culture Project, Emma Rika's 3 Ecstasies at HERE, The Yellow Wallpaper at The Ontological, and Allan Winson's A Midsummer Night's Dream at John Jay College. She has assisted Beowulf Boritt on his sets for Miss Julie at Cherry Lane Theater and Tuesday's with Morrie at Cleveland Playhouse. She is an alumna of Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.

Founded in 1994, 3-Legged Dog has become one of the leading experimental arts groups in New York, performing works in venues including The Kitchen, The Ontological, PS 122, La MaMa, Signature Theatre and The Venice Biennale (Arsenale). The company has mounted 17 full productions and numerous large-scale interactive installation works. In March 2006, 3LD Art & Technology Center opened the doors on a 12,500 square foot multi-venue art center in Lower Manhattan. In November 2007 the center was selected as one of 50 Essentials by Time Out and 3LD Artistic Director Kevin Cunningham was awarded The American Theater Wings Henry Hewes Design Award. Since its inception, the center has supported the work of over 1500 artists. 3LD continues to make at least 2 large-scale pieces each year in its new facility.
