Day 29 Huckleberry Haywood

Hey Y'all! Huck Haywood here. I'm from Haywood County, Alabama and I recently transplanted to NYC. I've been piecing together a show since the day I got off the Greyhound. It's coming together. But while I wait for my big break, I spend most of my time at Irving's Incredible Disco Diner. This isn't exactly what my family had planned out for me. I could have joined the family law firm, run the store, or even write for my Dad's newspaper. It just wasn't me. So here I am. Doing the best I can with my make-shift New York family: Roz, Quint and Juan Carlos. We serve burgers and shakes to tourists while we sing to them on rollerskates. When I'm not waiting on tables, I'm writing. Poetry, songs, lyrics, anything I can come up with to get me closer to telling my story.

My Nan would be so proud, especially since I just found out that my show has been invited to participate in the New York Musical Theatre Festival Developmental Reading series! Join me and the gang on October 14th at the 47th street Theatre to see what we come up with. Roll Tide! Huck loves you!!
