From the outset, My Perfect Pet has been a joy to work on. It has been a true collaboration. Our creative team of bookwriter, Bruce J. Robinson, director, Marlo Hunter, musical director, Dan Feyer, general manager, Gretchen Margaroli, and our glorious cast, has been nothing short of spectacular. Their commitment has been steadfast and their talents have been stellar. It all started when my wife and I got our 5 pound toy poodle, namEd Cassidy. She has been the inspiration for our show. We are grateful and thrilled that NYMF will be presenting these staged readings of My Perfect Pet, and, hope, that it is merely the first leg of a long and rewarding journey.

My Perfect Pet follows the adorable Cailin Green who dreams of getting a puppy for her upcoming tenth birthday. Her parents, however, aren't sure that Cailin is mature and responsible enough to care for a pet. So, we follow Cailin, her sister, Amy, and best friend Josh, as they go through a seemingly typical school day. During that time, there are lessons to learn and decisions to make. Will Cailin be worthy of receiving her prized perfect pet? In the end, mom and dad must decide. This charming book was written by Bruce J. Robinson along with sweet and catchy songs by Jeff Eisenberg.
