The 2012 World Science Festival launches with a special program for kids and families. It's the stunning multi-media performance piece Icarus at The Edge of Time @ 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 30th at the United Palace Theatre, 4140 Broadway at 175th Street.

The story is a dramatic re-telling of the Icarus myth that will capture the hearts and imagination for audiences of all ages. LeVar Burton appears as narrator for the live performance that takes a whirlwind voyage through space and time, giving a modern twist to the classic tale.

Icarus at The Edge of Time features an original orchestral score by Philip Glass, performed by the Orchestra of St. Luke's, conducted by Brad Lubman, a film directed by innovative cutting-edge British filmmakers Al+Al, and a script adapted by Tony-Award winning playwright David Henry Hwang and author, physicist and string theorist Brian Greene, based on his book for young people
