2011 Tony Awards: Sutton Foster Wins 'Best Leading Actress in a Musical'

The American Theatre Wing's 64th Annual Antoinette Perry "Tony"® Awards were held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 13, 2011 and broadcast on the CBS Television Network. For more information visit tonyawards.com.

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 65th Annual Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards® were announced May 3, 2011 by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose.

The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards are bestowed annually on theatre professionals for distinguished achievement. The Tony is one of the most coveted awards in the entertainment industry and the annual telecast is considered one of the most prestigious programs on television.

Beth Leavel ("Florence Greenberg" in Baby It's You!)
Beth Leavel received Tony, Drama Desk, NY Outer Critics Circle and L.A. Drama Critics Awards for her performance as the title character in The Drowsy Chaperone. Other Broadway credits include Emily in Elf, Donna in Mamma Mia!, Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein, Dorothy Brock in the revival of 42nd Street, Tess in the original company of Crazy for You, Mrs. Bixby in The Civil War, Ellie in Hal Prince's Show Boat and Anytime Annie (her Broadway debut) in 42nd Street. Ms. Leavel was also seen in the City Center Encores! production of No, No, Nanette as Lucille. Numerous Off-Broad­way, commercials, TV and regional theatre. MFA from UNC-G. Proud mom to T.J. and Sam. Grateful to my boys @BRS. Thankful to have the chance to tell Florence's story.



Patina Miller ("Deloris Van Cartier" in Sister Act)
Patina Miller originated the role of Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act's West End production, earning an Olivier Award nomination and a WhatsOnStage.com Theatregoers' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Additional credits include Off-Broadway: Hair (Public Theater), Romantic Poetry (Manhattan Theatre Club). Regional: Sister Act, Being Alive (Philadelphia Theatre Company). Workshops: American Idiot, Nightingale, The Book of Mormon. Television: "All My Children." Miller received a degree in musical theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. Patina is honored and thrilled to be making her Broadway debut in her dream role. She'd like to thank her Mom, Bauman Redanty Shaul, Jeremy Katz and her family and friends. She'd also like to thank her Sister Act family, especially Whoopi for her advice and trust, and her voice teacher, Mark Meylan. She dedicates her performance to her Grandmother.
